  • Program - Mary E. Black: Her Story-Her Legacy by Wendy Landry
    • Mary E. Black was one of the most important figures in reviving handweaving in Canada in the second half of the twentieth century. She grew up in Nova Scotia and became one of the pioneers of modern physiotherapy and occupational therapy in North America. She wrote one of the first and most enduring books to teach weaving, and was almost single-handedly instrumental in promoting handcraft activities in Nova Scotia. ASH members worked to conserve her manuscript samples at the NS Public Archives, and make them available for study. Wendy Landry will present her full story.
